KENYA
We supported a Child Survival intervention for over 70 mothers in Kenya giving them pre- and post-natal
care allowing their children to not only survive but thrive. The intervention provided workshops on producing nutritional food, healthy child development and income generation activities, as well as the mothers receiving mosquito nets, nutritional supplements, access to medical care, and monthly visits from child survival experts.
INDIA
An intervention in India provided tree climbing equipment for 50 fathers of Compassion-supported children. With the Palmyra leaves and fruit having over 800 uses, the tree climbing equipment is the tool the fathers needed to create their own businesses, which in turn gave their children new opportunities for education.
HONDURAS
In Honduras, a workshop was equipped and opened for 70 children to learn carpentry skills. In partnership with a local organisation, the children were taught microenterprise skills and sold their work through a local business.
HAITI
In Haiti, where opportunities to earn an income are very limited, we funded an intervention supporting Compassion children to successfully study nursing degrees. Nurses are desperately needed in the country, so the students will be making a difference to not only their lives but their communities too.
MEXICO
A Compassion centre in Mexico was struggling to support the 243 children in its care due to a lack of facilities. We've raised funds towards building four new classrooms at the centre, so that the children are able to learn the all-important skills they need to have brighter futures.
TANZANIA
120 children are currently benefitting from a skills workshop intervention in Tanzania. They are receiving training in
baking, carpentry, videography, and entrepreneurship skills as they look to create incomes in the future.
